Madame Tussauds

March. In a short 11 weeks, Madame Tussaud’s underwent a facelift costing more then 4 million Euro. The attraction takes visitors on an emotionally charged journey through the realms of the powerful and famous and allows the guest to relive the times, events and moments that made the world talk about them. In addition to a whole new floor, the exhibition is now ready to host Tussaud’s Events.

Once the visitor enters through the whole new Reception Experience, and reaches the fourth floor by the escalator, he steps out in the Dutch Golden Age. This area, Michael Jackson’s favorite during his four visits, upon request has undergone only minor changes.

Continuing their journey to Modern Times the visitors enters the Grand Hall, styled to look like a 1700 hall in a Dutch manor. This room is heavily populated by world leaders, royals, artists, writers and religious leaders. The portrayed are brought to life with memorabilia such as paintings, a smoking cigarette or a picture of the most memorable moments of their lives.

The Music Zone has a great disco floor and a mix of video footage, music and pictures illustrating the history of music from the fifties until present. Through the Music Zone visitors find themselves on the brand new floor where they are welcomed by the greatest sport heroes in the Sport Gallery. Later on they stand face to face with TV-personalities in the TV Studio Backstage. Only for Madame Tussaud’s Amsterdam, these TV-celebrities have released entertaining bloopers never shown before. The spectacular glass stairs lead them downstairs into the Hall of Fame. Popular contemporary and legendary movie stars shine as if they where at a Première Night. By the video projection on the 19 foot high wall one can witness how wax portraits are made in the Tussauds Studio’s.
