The Muziekgebouw aan?t IJ is the newest concert hall in the Netherlands and is one of the most modern auditoriums in the world. The building serves as a cultural anchor in Amsterdam and as a link between the newly developed IJ banks and the historic heart of the city. The Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ is a striking building with a remarkable setting and architecture. An imposing glass fa?ade marks out a spacious hall with caf?-restaurant. The Muziekgebouw has two auditoriums; a large, multifunctional chamber music hall, seating 725, and a smaller hall seating 100. The three foyer decks, in use during concert intervals, are large balconies in the immense glass fa?ade and provide a spectacular view over the IJ. The combination of auditoriums and foyer decks has already made the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ a much-used location for conferences, presentations and lectures. The small auditorium, located on the top floor, has its own foyer deck with the same breathtaking view. This means that a lecture or conference can easily be combined with a lunch or dinner party. Right next door to the Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ, is the Bimhuis, a concert hall for jazz and improvisation.
