This house served as an entrance to the church and to 4 private homes located in the former garden. The church has remained in private use till 1798. After that date the church has been renovated and enlarged by the architect Th. Molkenboer (1796-1863) and has served during many years till 1974 when the city patrionat wanted to close and demolish the church as they did not have enough financial resources to maintain the church. After 25 years, The City council has taken over the church and completed the private renovation project. During this last renovation, historic wall paintings of the 12 apostles and other religious figures were discovered and renovated to its old glory. Since 2002 the Church serves as a unique venue for lectors, recitals, concerts and private receptions and dinner parties up to 400 guests. On Sunday’s the church has maintained it’s religious function.
